Margaret Karangatha is the Executive Director of The Lead Consortium Ltd. Over the last 27 years, she has built a name in Kenya and many African countries for consulting in various areas. Margaret is an Executive Coach and mentor (a certified practitioner of The Leadership Circle Profile (TLCP), and a Facilitator / Organizational Development Consultant in disciplines like Health Care Industry, Publishing, Engineering, Telecommunications, Real Estate, Educational Institutions, and Floriculture among others. Her passion to “Grow people for effectiveness, fruitfulness and fulfilment” has seen her play a role in coaching and training staff at Africa Population and Health Research Center (APHRC), Amref Health Africa, Mount Kenya University, Pan African Christian University, Abba and Wandu Engineers, and Elris Communications, among others. Margaret has actively participated in the development of curriculum and training materials for Health Systems Strengthening (HSS) for Africa. She specializes in Personal Development, Organizational Development & Planning, Leadership and Human Resource Management, and Finance for Finance and Non-Finance Managers. She is a Co-Founder and Director of The Lead Consortium (TLC), M&D Homes, and M&D Bygg. She worked as a Management Coordinator for United Bible Societies (UBS), overseeing work in over 34 countries in Africa for over 15 years. In this role, Margaret has serviced many UBS Boards in Africa and beyond. She is the current Chairperson of Kingdom Bank, a subsidiary of the Co-operative Bank of Kenya. She is also a Board Member of Cooperative Bank of Kenya where she chairs the Board Credit Committee and Board Risk Committee. She is the Chairperson of Global Patrons Fund, a Fundraising arm of the Bible Society of Kenya where she had previously worked in a consulting role. Margaret holds a bachelor's degree in Commerce (Accounting Option) from the University of Nairobi, a Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA, Strategic Management) from the United States International University, and is a Certified Public Accountant – Kenya (CPA-K). Margaret has served on several Boards. She completed her term as the Board Chairman of The Navigators Economic Projects Transformation Facility (EPTF) in September 2019, the Regional Treasurer of Scripture Union Africa in 2020, and Scripture Union Kenya a bit earlier. Margaret spends her free time growing relationships with family and friends, and developing leaders for the church through the Grow and Glow Program, and the Leadership Development Program (LDP), a one-year program that she co-founded with a team of like-minded people in 2013. The latter has now been adopted as the School of Ministry by Christ is the Answer Ministries (CITAM).
