Jacqueline Mathaga is a dynamic and visionary leader, recently appointed as the Director of Resource Mobilization at Daystar University, marking her return after serving as Senior Resource Mobilization Officer earlier in her career. With over fifteen years of experience in driving impactful fundraising initiatives, Jacqueline’s strategic expertise has been instrumental in advancing diverse projects across Africa.
Before rejoining Daystar, Jacqueline held leadership positions at Family Group Foundation and KTDA Foundation, where she spearheaded successful fundraising efforts and cultivated key donor relationships. At Family Group Foundation, she organized Kenya’s first marathon to advance education for learners with autism. At KTDA Foundation, she led initiatives that empowered small-scale tea farmers and supported sustainable development projects. As the founder of Arthur’s Dream Autism Trust (ADAT Foundation) and Founding Trustee of the Pan African Congress on Autism, Jacqueline continues to mobilize significant resources to improve access to education, healthcare, and justice for individuals with disabilities. Her advocacy is deeply personal, driven by her experience as the mother of a non-speaking autistic son.
Jacqueline holds a Master’s in Justice and Advocacy from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, USA, and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Global Leadership at the same institution. She additionally holds a master’s in Public Administration from the University of Nottingham, UK, and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. Her fundraising experience is anchored by professional certificates from the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy- Indiana, USA . She is an active member of the Kenya Association of Fundraising Professionals and a registered fundraising trainer. Her academic background, coupled with her extensive experience, positions her to lead Daystar’s resource mobilization efforts with passion, innovation, and a strong commitment to inclusive development.
