I am a Senior Lecturer of Evaluation and development at Daystar University with over 20 years of experience in project management, monitoring and evaluation, digital information systems, research, gender, rights-based approach, capacity building and provision of technical support in emergency and development programs, working in the United Kingdom and African countries including Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Southern Sudan, Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo, and South Africa. I have also led several studies and evaluations in the region in health, development, and emergencies. I was also a core team member in the development of civil society institutional strengthening standards and assessment tools in Kenya through USAID funded FANIKISHA Institutional Strengthening Project and has managed projects funded by USAID, EU, SIDA, UN/WFP, CIDA and Foundations. I am organized and enthusiastic professional with ability to prioritize effectively to complete multiple tasks and projects with defined timeframes under pressure.
I have also taught postgraduate courses in public health, monitoring and evaluation, and development in other Kenyan universities. I am skilled at developing cooperative relations and teaming agreements with key project/program partners using cultural context understanding, and effective communication and negotiation skills. I have extensive experience in conducting qualitative and quantitative field-based research. I hold a Master of Public Health degree and Doctor of Organization Development and Transformation and is also the Director of Research, Monitoring and Evaluation at Benaphil Consultants and a senior researcher with Qdata Consult and Wellness Ltd.
