Dr. Jared Bravin Menecha is an accomplished Clinical Psychologist, academic, and mental health consultant with over 15 years of experience in higher education, psychological practice, and research leadership. He currently serves as the Head of the Department of Psychology and Counseling at Daystar University, where he also lectures and supervises postgraduate research in areas such as psychological assessment, psychotherapy, and educational leadership.

Dr. Menecha holds a PhD in Clinical Psychology and has taught at several institutions including Africa International University, Bugema University, and International Leadership University. His research contributions are published in peer-reviewed journals, particularly in the fields of adolescent mental health, family and couple issues, emerging psychological issues, and faith-integrated psychological care.

In addition to academia, Dr. Menecha is a seasoned consultant, having worked with the Ministry of Health–Kenya, Kenyatta National Hospital, and various international NGOs on projects related to mental health policy, refugee wellness, and post-pandemic psychosocial support. He is a reviewer for academic journals and ethical boards. His work reflects a deep commitment to integrating Christian faith with psychological science, and he is known for his servant leadership, scholarly rigor, and passion for holistic mental health solutions across Africa.

Dr. Menecha teaches a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in clinical psychology, mental health, and counseling, with a strong emphasis on evidence-based practice, psychometric rigor, and integrative care. Psychological Assessment & Measurement: Covers principles of psychometrics, standardized testing, diagnostic tools, and clinical evaluation techniques used in mental health practice.

Neuropsychopharmacology: Explores the interaction between psychotropic medications and brain function, including implications for clinical treatment and integrative therapy.

Physiological Psychology: Examines the biological bases of behavior, neuroanatomy, and brain-behavior relationships, linking neuroscience to clinical disorders and interventions.

Addictions and Interventions: Focuses on the psychological, social, and neurobiological dimensions of substance and behavioral addictions, including therapeutic strategies and relapse prevention models.

Research Interests

Dr. Jared Bravin Menecha is a clinical psychologist, academic, and interdisciplinary scholar with research interests that span clinical psychology, neuroscience, education, and faith-integrated psychotherapy. His work is deeply informed by his background in statistics, physics, and Christian theology, enabling him to bridge empirical science with human-centered care.

His key research areas include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based interventions, and Christian approaches to mental health. He is also involved in studies on trauma, adolescent mental health, and the neurobiological impact of spiritual practices. Dr. Menecha has published widely on issues such as depression, anxiety, anger, conduct disorders, and marriage counseling, and he remains active in psychometric research and data-driven mental health policy.

Passionate about faith-informed scholarship, he explores the integration of spirituality into psychotherapy, the role of emotional intelligence in leadership, and the psychological needs of marginalized populations such as refugees and orphans. He is committed to advancing holistic, ethical, and evidence-based mental health interventions across Africa.
