[Machakos, August 7, 2024] Officials from the Ministry of Education in Machakos County visited Daystar University Athi River Campus to discuss possible collaboration for the improvement of pre-primary education policy.
The team comprising Resource Mobilization Machakos County, Mr. Mohammed Ibrahim and CCM Education Machakos County, Dr. Consolata Mutisya, were received by the Dean, School of Arts and Social Sciences, Rev. Dr. Patrick Musembi, Mr. John Opok of DLPDI and Dr. Susan Wandera, Faculty in the Department of Education.
Mr. Mohammed Ibrahim introduced the pre-primary education policy and the challenges the County had experienced in its implemention.
Rev. Dr. Patrick Musembi assured the County representatives of Daystar’s willingness to support the cause.
On her part, Dr. Susan Wandera insisted that as much as the mission is to improve the Machakos County pre-primary education program, the improvements should be done within the framework of the existing national pre-primary education policy. She also suggested that part of the consolidated changes should be inclusion of care and education for children with special needs.
“My dream is to help students with disability”, said Dr. Consolata Mutisya.
