[Nairobi, August 20, 2024] Twenty-four Daystar University students drawn from all seven schools have this week participated in the week-long Kenya National Research Festival at the Edge Convention Centre in Nairobi from August 19-23.
Student nominations to the festival came courtesy of the Daystar University Directorate of Research Innovation, Commercialization and Entrepreneurship, led by Dr. Caroline Muaka Ayuya, who is also the ODeL Director.
The inaugural 2024 festival was organized by the National Research Fund (NRF) in collaboration with Young Scientists Kenya, the British High Commission in Nairobi and the British Council.
The festival brought together 1,500 delegates from 47 counties, among them researchers, scientists, innovators and delegates globally attending. The Kenya National Research Festival is a milestone event dedicated to cultivating discourse, igniting synergies, fostering collaboration, and promoting growth through the exchange of knowledge within the research community. Twenty universities exhibited in the event. On Tuesday 20th August, students attended a workshop focusing on equipping the youth with skills in financial literacy and SDGs, and why these matter to research, IP protection, linking Arts with STEM.
Present also was the Head of British Council Ms. Monica Blagescu who fully funded the 24 Daystar University students to attend the NRF festival.
