From 20th - 23rd August, 205 church leaders met at Jesus Cares Church in the coastal town of Malindi for a four day DLPDI training in Church Leadership and Governance.
The church leaders, comprising of Bishops, Pastors, Evangelists, Pastors' spouses, Deacons among other were drawn from different churches in Kilifi County. The training, which also served as a dialogue forum was collaboratively organised by Bishop Thomas Kakala of JCC (the host) and Bishop Dr. Michael Macharia

More than 10 churches were represented, among them JCC, Gospel Revival Centre, Church of Christ, Baptist Church, and Redeemed Gospel Church.
Bishop Kakala and Bishop Macharia mobilised participants through Malindi and Kilifi Pastors' Associations.
Among the facilitators were Daystar University Vice Chancellor Prof. Laban P. Ayiro and former DLPDI Director Prof. Abraham Waithima.
Prof. Ayiro delivered a session on the role of governance in change management and succession planning. Other topics included
