The popular Channah Leadership Development Programme, hosted by the Daystar Leadership and Development Institute (DLPDI) culminated with a colorful graduation ceremony held on 23rd May 2024 at the Nairobi Campus, DAC Auditorium.
The training, which brought together she-pastors and pastors’ wives from different denominations, offered insight on their role in churches and developed unique leadership skills to provide relevant guidance in their respective denominations.
The chief guest was the patron of the Pastors’ Wives Fellowship (PWF-K), Mama Adah Adoyo. Mama Adoyo stressed the vital role pastors’ wives play in churches, which she said contributed significantly to growth and development in the house of God. She urged women to build and maintain etiquette in places of worship in honour of God.
Mama Adoyo also underscored the importance of becoming a people person, living within one’s means and time management. Using her story, she encouraged women to soldier on and keep their eyes on the Lord, saying that God rewards at his time.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Laban P. Ayiro talked about emotional intelligence, stressing its role as pivotal and second to none in human growth. Prof. Ayiro emphasized the need for individuals to be people of character, and with a clean heart, stating this as the path to excellence to spirituality and life. Additionally, while sharing on work-life balance, Prof. Ayiro insisted on embracing passion and pursuing good health.
Prof. Ayiro concluded his presentation with an exclusive on DLPDI’s Director, Prof. Abraham Waithima’s next assignment. He said that he was indebted to Prof. Waithima, for his unswerving dedication to serve Daystar University.
The DVC ARSA Prof. Faith Nguru briefly spoke about her utmost delight for a successful training which culminated with the graduation. She thanked the DLPDI staff for their continued commitment to making a difference in the society.
DLPDI Director, Prof. Abraham Waithima gave an overview of the rigorous training and organization of the training, and thanked his entire team responsible for its success. He reiterated DLPDI’s commitment to providing short impactful trainings in fulfillment of the University’s vision.
On behalf of the Corporate Affairs and Marketing Manager, Ms. Racheal Mwaka, unpacked the various academic programmes offered in the University affirming the University’s reputation in producing students of high academic integrity, excellence and servant-leadership. She emphasized the University’s aim of building character as a virtue in its students above all else.
After presentation of certificates, Rev. Miano Weche wrapped up the ceremony by commissioning the graduands and offering the benediction.
